Exit Exam Preparation
Extreme Learning prepares high school students for the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). Multi-media instruction, test-taking strategies, and practice tests are incorporated into sessions that prepare groups of up to10 students to take the CAHSEE. Students receive extensive practice taking standardized tests and receive immediate feedback on both content and test-taking strategies. Extreme Learning coaches use Siboney Learning’s Orchard software for skill development, as well as Princeton Review’s CAHSEE Test Preparation workbooks for the Exit Exam preparation program.
CAHSEE preparation includes:
Two hour sessions, 2-5 days per week
Diagnostic tests to determine starting point for improvement
Multi-media instruction, using educational software and workbooks
Test-taking strategies and practice tests
Math, reading, writing, and vocabulary training
10:1 student to coach ratio
SAT Preparation
Extreme Learning prepares students for the new Student Aptitude Test (SAT) in two-hour sessions once per week for 10 weeks, or in a five week course, meeting twice weekly. Sessions incorporate Kaplan and Princeton Review print and software materials, multi-media instruction, and practice tests to ready students for the new SAT. Extreme Learning students have averaged over 250 points improvement in SAT scores after taking our SAT Prep courses.
SAT preparation includes:
Kaplan and Princeton Review test-prep materials
TestGear online materials and passwords to allow practice outside of the test prep class
Diagnostic tests to determine a starting point and goals for improvement
Multi-media instructional strategies
Test-taking strategies and practice tests
Math, reading, writing, and vocabulary training
10:1 student to coach ratio with tutors who have developed an expertise in SAT test preparation strategies
